SYNOPSIS

Calvary Unleashed I'm Not Going to Nail Jesus to the Cross Again is a bold, faith‑centered stage production that illuminates the power of redemption, conviction, and spiritual awakening through dynamic storytelling, original music, and emotionally charged performances.

​

Set inside Life & Love Church, the story introduces a cast of metaphorical church members—flawed, familiar, and deeply human. Their struggles, secrets, and spiritual battles reflect the very real challenges found in sanctuaries everywhere. Through these characters, the production fearlessly exposes the obstacles that hinder salvation, sanctification, and an authentic relationship with God.

At the heart of the narrative is a powerful reminder of the price Jesus paid at Calvary. As the truth unfolds, the audience is invited to confront their own choices, examine their faith, and embrace the transformative grace that leads to eternal life.

Calvary Unleashed is more than a production—it is a spiritual encounter. By the final scene, audiences leave with a renewed conviction: "I refuse to nail Jesus to the cross again."

PERFORMANCE LOCATIONS

We are currently casting for both primary and understudy roles for productions across Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, and Orlando. As we finalize these cities, we will provide updates and post casting information for those and other areas. 

​

If you would like to be considered for the pending locations, you can register now to be placed on a waitlist for out-of-state opportunities. If selected, you will only be required to perform at the agreed-upon locations.

​

COMPENSATION

Local engagements: Minimum pay will be a percentage of your ticket sales, vendor, and patron contributions.  

​

Out-of-state engagements: Compensation will depend on the arrangements made with the host city. Some will be ticketed events, and others may be free-will offerings.

LEADING CHARACTERS

 

PASTOR HONEST: (A man who looks 35 or older) He is a sincere man of God who preaches the uncompromised Word.  He loves his wife and daughter deeply.

 

FIRST LADY HONEST- (A woman who looks 35 or older) She is sincere about God and loves her husband and daughter.  She's closed-mouth and quiet.

 

SISTER FRUIT- (woman who looks 35-50) They came to church as a young couple. They are kind, wise, friendly, and supportive servants. 

 

MAIN CHARACTERS

 

DEACON FRUIT- (Man who looks 35-50) They came to church as a young couple. They are kind, wise, friendly, and supportive servants. 

 

SISTER REDEEMED- (A woman who looks 30-45) She is highly convicted. Doesn't like the state of the current "church".  She is tired of people making a mockery of God and taking the resurrection of Jesus Christ so lightly. 

 

SISTER VERY BITTER – (A woman who looks 30-40) was raised going to church.  She has a child, VICTIM, whom she hates. 

 

SISTER HYPOCRITE – (A woman who looks 30-45) was raised in the church.  She is an elitist, proud, arrogant, greedy, selfish, and judgmental. She is secretly estranged from her husband and a mother of two children, OBNOXIOUS and PRIVILEGED.

 

SISTER PERSONA– (A woman who looks 25-40) Girl next door type. She came to the church as a teenager.  She laughs at most things.

 

NARCISSIST - (A woman who looks 20-35 years old). She came to the church as a young adult.  She loves brand-name labels.  She is also a gossiper who envies everyone else's disposition. She lusts after the finer things in life to the point that she is a kleptomaniac.

 

SUPPORTING CHARACTERS

 

MESSY GOSSIPER – (30 or older, comical) is a church member who is messy and loves to gossip.

 

LYING GOSSIPER – (30 or older, comical) is a church member who is a liar and loves to gossip.

 

BROTHER STEREOTYPED – (A man who looks 35-45 years old) He was hired as the musician.  He is a quiet, clean-cut, handsome guy.  He is genuine in his pursuit of God and Sister REDEEMED.

 

TOKEN WHITE GUY- (A White man 25-35) He is a construction worker who loves God earnestly.

 

SISTER JOY KINDNESS – (35 or older) She is the church announcer. She has an uplifting, joyful demeanor and a kind spirit.

 

MS AGNOSTIC- (30 or older) is a social worker.

 

SISTER HYPOCRITE'S HUSBAND (A man who looks 35-50)

 

JESUS- (A black man who looks 35-50) Nicely built.  Facial Hair preferred. Needs to carry the cross.

 

CHILDREN OR YOUTH

 

OBNOXIOUS – (A boy 5-8) He's talkative and obnoxious.

 

PRIVILEGED – (A girl 5-8) She is prim, proper, and a little vain.  

 

VICTIM – (A girl who looks 8-12 years old) She is a sweet but timid girl. 

 

EXAMPLE HONEST – (A female Teenager 15-17) She's the pastor and 1st Lady's daughter.

 

OTHERS: Praise dancers, Soloists
