The Artist

Cynthia Valentine is the owner and CEO of Destiny Publishings LLC. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia State University with two degrees: Journalism and Professional Writing, and Journalism with a concentration on Broadcast Journalism and a minor in speech. Additionally, she studied under renowned playwright Dr. Shirlene Holmes for two years.

 

Cynthia's father, Lewis Peters, was Hollywood's first African American sound engineer and won several Grammy Awards, including the iconic song "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor. Following in her father's footsteps in her passion for the arts, Cynthia has over 20 years of experience in acting, writing, and theater. On the film side, she produced segments of the talk show "Dropping Gems" and worked on three media projects for Bill Duke, including an animated film titled "The Journey," which premiered in September 2024 in Atlanta. Cynthia has written, produced, and directed various community and church productions. Her professional stage play, "Nativity Unleashed," debuted in August 2017 to a sold-out audience and had two additional runs in 2018, as well as a short tour in 2019. Following that, "Calvary Unleashed: I'm Not Going to Nail Jesus to the Cross Again" debuted in March 2024, and "Cinderella Unleashed" premiered in September 2025.

 

As a publisher, Cynthia has produced over 20 media projects, which include books and albums. She offers both virtual and in-person public speaking and acting coaching, as well as writing classes for those looking to improve their writing skills or write a book.

 

Cynthia has showcased her acting talents in television and stage productions, including "An Evening in Elegance" at the Los Angeles Theatre and Georgia State University's production of "She." She headlined the poetic and dramatic presentation "Visions Through Me," accompanied by dancers, actors, singers, and poets. In addition to stage plays, she has appeared in television shows such as "The Resident," "Lodge 49," "Star," and "Greenleaf," and played a recurring role as Marian Paulsen in the "Conversations with God" series.

 

Cynthia is the author of "Unwrapped," a collection of poetic and dramatic readings, as well as a biography titled "My Glory, My Story." Her novel series "Innocent Betrayal" is groundbreaking, written from a patriarchal perspective, and includes titles such as "Innocent Betrayal: Melinda's Story," "Innocent Betrayal: Anthony's Story," and "Innocent Betrayal: Trevon's Story." She is currently working on the fourth installment of the series. Additionally, she has released three poetic spoken word albums: "Role Model," "Messed Up to Be Blessed Up," and "My Heart Said I Love You."

 

Cynthia was a member of Roni's Backstreet Poetry and has performed at various venues, including the Comedy Store's Cometri, hosted by Roni Walters and TK Carter, as well as Marla Gibb's Theatre, Universal CityWalk, the Ontario Convention Center, and The African Marketplace. She has also been featured in programs at West Angeles COGIC Koinonia, various church events, and at California colleges, as well as on The Psalmist Hour in San Diego, CA.

 

She was the featured author and poetic performer at Borders Bookstore on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, CA. Her live television appearances include The West Coast Apollo Television Show, L.A. Inside Out, and Atlanta Live. She has been a guest three times on the 860 Love AM radio show, "Women of Standard," and her music is frequently played on Really Real Radio and on most streaming apps.

 

Most importantly, Cynthia has shared the gospel since she was twenty.  "The Evangelist."
